I could add the repeating task with all options I want in a cheaper app, but it would take me 10 taps. a repeating task in Reminders, but it would repeat the way I want so for some tasks I would have to accept it would notify me too soon or too late. To stay with the repeating tasks functionality: I could make. all of 2Do's features will only get in the way.īut for me basically what 2Do does is remove friction. If you never have repeating tasks, would never need a project, if all your tasks have similar priority etc. This should not be a surprise.įirst of all I think you actually need to have the need for most of its features. As a 2Do user, I will have the exact same feeling on Things. However, I can imagine that if you have a lot of separate activities (work with multiple teams, home, baseball team you coach, etc.), GTD would fit you better.Īlso know that when you have used Things heavily for some time, of course 2Do will feel off. My style is more fitted to 2Do: I have a lot or repeating and time sensitive tasks, and almost all my tasks are done either at home or at work, so I have little variation in location or project or context. You can sort this list by date, or priority, or whatever. Then, a few times a day, you sort these thoughts out (add a description, set the location where you can perform the task, add a context, group them into projects, set a due date etc.) Then when you have some time to perform tasks, you filter all your tasks (say I am at my workplace, I'd filter them by "location = work") and move some tasks to your todo list.ĢDo has a more classical list-approach when you add a task, you fill in all its details, then the task is added to your list. ![]() GTD is based on an "Inbox" where you quickly jot down anything that pops up in your head.
